What’s an RSS Spill and Why Am I Seeing It in My Feed?

Modified on Mon, 4 Aug, 2025 at 8:36 AM

If you’ve ever scrolled through your SPILL feed and come across a post that looks like it’s from an outside source — maybe a news article, a trending topic, or a viral moment — you’ve likely seen an RSS Spill.

So… What is an RSS Spill?

An RSS Spill is a post that brings in curated content from trusted external websites directly into SPILL. It’s part of a feature designed to help you stay informed about what’s happening in the world, all without leaving the app.

Why Are These in My Feed?

You might see RSS Spills in your My Brew tab. They’re there to:

  • Keep you updated on breaking news and cultural moments

  • Spark meaningful conversations

  • Add context to things people are already talking about on SPILL

How Can I Customize What I See?

To further tailor the content you see, you can filter and adjust the RSS Spills in your feed by managing your Build Your Brew topics. Here’s how:

  1. Tap your profile icon

  2. Tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner

  3. Select Build Your Brew

  4. Choose the topics that interest you to adjust the RSS Spills you see

If you ever come across one that feels off or not relevant, feel free to report it — we want this content to feel just as intentional as everything else in your feed.
